Negrete or Not

Students have become accustomed to the use of digital educational platforms on a daily basis like Infinite Campus, Canvas, Kahoot and other resources.
To be able to access these platforms you need access to a stable Wi-Fi connection, which has been difficult for students and teachers to get a hold of recently on campus. Many people today, like myself, probably aren't able to do most of their daily tasks without Wi-Fi. If we’re going to require students to access online resources every day for a grade, it’s past time that we had adequate, modern connections with which to do it.
Every Tuesday and Thursday I have an American Sign Language class through San Jose City College. Our class had a final on Nov. 16, which was a video of signing about your family members with only one attempt allowed. Half of our class had to email the professor asking for a retake due to the Wi-Fi lagging the video too much. Other times in a class that only uses Canvas or Google Docs, I am face to face with the “no internet” dinosaur page. It can be frustrating when taking a quiz and having to reload the page every few minutes due to the Wi-Fi connection. Since this is not just a personal issue I’m facing, but one a community of people are as well, my hope is that the Wi-Fi issue will get resolved sooner than later.
