Nashville hot chicken is the hottest thing revolutionizing the fast food market. Competition runs rampant in the hot chicken' industry, as there are a number of establishments, the most popular ones being Dave’s Hot Chicken, Angry Chickz and Jojo’s Hot Chicken.
But the main question that begs to be asked is what makes the best hot chicken sandwich? Is it the spice? The crispiness? The sweetness? Or maybe even the sauce? Well what if I told you that one of these places encompasses all of the needs of the consumer.
This place is Jojo’s Hot Chicken, located just off of Kooser Road. In order to get the true value of each sandwich, we need to assess them, and go over the statistics if you will. I'm basing all of my data off of two “sliders and fries” combo in each establishment. Dave’s Hot Chicken is $13.99, Angry Chickz is $17.00 and Jojo's Hot Chicken is $14.99. The most economically reasonable choice would be Dave’s Hot Chicken, sitting at the cheapest price, however, you pay for the quality of your food, to some extent. Jojo’s Hot Chicken’s money-to-food-quality ratio is the best, because the chicken strips there are a healthy size and good for the price. Angry Chickz has around the same sized chickens, maybe even a little bit bigger, but with that, one would need to spend more money.
Finally, I would say Dave’s Hot Chicken has the smallest portion, which makes sense when you’re paying only $13.99 for two sliders and fries. Every time I eat Dave’s Hot Chicken, I'm always wanting more. I'm never satisfied to a full extent like I see myself with Angry Chickz and Jojo’s Hot Chicken.
I am rating the food on just the taste on a one through five scale, one being the worst and five being the best. Jojo’s Hot Chicken, in my opinion, is the most flavorful and the spice is a good balance of heat, crunch and sweetness when fried. I would give it a five out of five. I think Angry Chickz is the best Jojo’s Hot Chicken substitute, and when you can't get it, Angry Chickz will definitely suffice. The flavor is good, the crunch is great and the sweetness is there, however I have noticed that their chicken is typically not as juicy as the other competitors, and it tends to be dried out at times. I would give it a four out of five. Now Dave’s Hot Chicken seems to be lacking something, because when I tried it for the first time I took an excited bite and my first thought was that I was expecting more flavor. The flavor is supposed to be very good, however, it seems to be muted in some way that I just don't sit right with. If you like mild spiciness, you need to get “hot” or maybe even “very hot,” and for that reason, I give it a 3.75.
Overall, Jojo’s Hot Chicken is the best, and there are times where I start to keep track of the days I haven't had it, and I start to crave it. It's delectable. It's amazing. It's the best hot chicken sandwich in the Bay.
