Cos' I Said So...

November is always one of the craziest times of the school year because there is always so much that happens. It's also the month before finals so it doesn’t feel real that the semester is ending until after Thanksgiving break.
For seniors, November means college applications are due and faster than we knew what was happening, and the application deadlines came much quicker than we thought. I felt like I had weeks before applications were due. When I finally looked at the calendar, as the days kept inching closer, I realized they were going to be due a lot sooner than I had thought. So, the prospect of submitting applications became a lot more real once Oct. 31 became Nov. 1.
It was one of the weirdest feelings when the applications were submitted. It was a combination of excitement and nervousness.
As seniors finalize and submit these applications, they let the hard work settle before moving on to the next step of the college process. We’ve all just accomplished something that will take us into the next steps of our lives after high school.
And yet, now that this part of the application process has ended, seniors have to focus back on reality and prepare for our upcoming finals. Stress levels are most likely exceeding new levels as we wait for college decisions and cram hours upon hours of studying to prepare for our first finals of the year.
But, give yourselves a breather, give yourself time to catch up a little bit and settle back into the rest of the semester before rushing to think about graduation in five months.
So breathe, relax and enjoy this Christmas break. We have all earned it.
