All the events hosted at school to foster school spirit are hugely important in keeping school a positive and welcoming place for students.
Events such as dances and spirit weeks give students something to look forward to when attending school, by giving them a chance to dress up in special attire. Rallies and tournaments, such as the recent dodgeball tournament, are another great way to provide bonding between students of different grades through friendly competition that strengthens school spirit.
I believe that school spirit is as crucial to the environment at a school as any other aspect of school such as education. By giving students a positive environment to bond in and create memories, school can be turned into something students look forward to rather than dread. Events such as dances allow students to be at school under a non-educational environment and release stress.
Other events, such as the recent dodgeball tournament, allow students to showcase their athletic abilities, cheer for their peers and have an overall amusing experience. School, especially high school, is important not only for education but also for memories.
These important memories are created through a variety of events and activities that are mainly hosted by leadership, clubs and the arts department. These activities are often overlooked by schools for funding and resources, and their importance is often undermined. Providing more aid to these will allow school to become a more cheerful and positive experience for many students, which will in turn motivate students to enjoy the academic part of school as well.
