Modern Warfare expands horizons for both new and experienced players

Call of Duty, which has recently been sticking with futuristic or historic games, is now switching it up and going back to a more realistic setting and using military references like the Jaeger corps and the U.S. Marines.
This begs the question, is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare better than the other games in the series? I personally think it’s a huge improvement over the old games, especially Call of Duty: Ghosts. Modern Warfare brings all new features, items and maps, as is expected in the long running yearly franchise.
Starting off with the graphics, it has improvements over older games with more options in the graphical settings like the ADS blur, which makes it feel much more realistic.
Onto the gameplay, they’ve added new mechanics like editing your custom classes in a match, or changing teams after the match has started. Several mechanics have been added to the game that change the playstyle, like the new field upgrades, which allow you to get ammo during a match or many other helpful things. The best option that came to the game is the ability to switch every gun between automatic and semiautomatic. The game developer, Activision, also added the ability to lean around corners and mount yourself to walls, windows and barricades. There are new variations on the way you spawn, like bringing you in on a helicopter cutting down on the feeling of repetition. Activision won’t charge money for the game’s future downloadable content, a first for the series.
Lastly, I am excited to see that the game developers have finally implemented a crossplay option that allows you to play with anyone, regardless of the console they play on.
The three main modes include Campaign, Multiplayer and Co-op. For multiplayer game modes, they decided to bring some back old fan-favorites, while also adding new ones. The classic game modes brought back include Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy and Free-For-All. The new game modes coming to Modern Warfare include Search and Rescue and Realistic, which turns the HUD and the mini map off, allowing for a more realistic point of view when playing. These add much needed variation in the multiplayer. Scorestreaks are similarly making a comeback with old, new and reworked versions of previous scorestreaks.
I personally believe the game is great and was so excited when I heard they were not going to charge for the downloadable content because it meant I didn’t have to worry about buying new content. I had a chance to play the beta and saw a lot of improvement, especially in the feel of the game, which gave an experience of a modern day war with its realistic gunplay. I enjoyed the way multiplayer is played, mostly due to the new leaning mechanic. The maps incorporate a lot of spots that can take advantage of this new mechanic and the developers put a ton of work into the details of the maps.
I can’t wait to see this game flourish and improve as time progresses. I believe this is a game that is worthy of being purchased, so I encourage you to give it a try.
