In her first year on the varsity girls’ soccer team, Taylor Farnum, 10, has led the team to some amazing victories.
At the team’s CCS game on Feb. 26, against Abraham Lincoln High School, regulation ended with a score of 0-0, with penalty kicks deciding the winner. Farnum scored the winning penalty kick, ending the game with a long-awaited win.
A fellow athlete on the team, Annalyce Upton, 11, praises Farnum for the work she puts into the team, the impact she’s had on the field, her hard work and the energy she brings to the team.
“Taylor has shown her commitment by showing up to all the games ready to play and always puts in the effort no matter how tired she is,” said Upton.
Another teammate, Autumn O’Toole, 11, appreciates the kind of teammate Farnum is on the field and the friend she is off the field. She thinks that Farnum has really excelled this season.
“She is such a diverse player and always knows what to do when she gets the ball. She has helped us score game winning goals and helped us immensely getting further and further in CCS,” said O’Toole.
Justin Stopps, the girls’ varsity soccer team coach, thinks Farnum has been a great addition to the team, and that Taylor’s technical ability has helped the team as well as her speed and agility.
“Taylor has shown to be a great teammate this season, she gets on well with all the team whether they are a freshman or a senior, she is always there to help her teammates,” said Stopps.
